Our Mission
At Western Palearctic Birding, we aim to provide a comprehensive resource for birdwatchers of all levels. Our mission is to connect enthusiasts with nature through unrivalled information about bird species, locations, latest rarity reports and more.
The WP is a fascinating region and would like to think we can help you in seeing some of the great birds present.

Nick Bray
Western Palearctic Birding has been created by Nick Bray and is meant to be a resource for all birders and provide information & assistance to see all the birds in the WP. Well, that is the aim. This website is in the early stages of development and has a long way to go, but hopefully with the help (I can dream!) of other birders, we can do something really good here!
Nick is the owner and principal tour leader of Zoothera Birding (www.zootherabirding.com) and is also the creator of the popular Oman Birding website (www.oman-birding.com). His interest in WP Birding is still growing, having spent 25+ years guiding all around the world, mainly to long-haul destinations. His WP list is really poor but is hoping to put that right in the very near future! He will be leading tours to Algeria, Corsica & Morocco, Egypt, Jordan & West Kazakhstan, as well as numerous tours to Oman.
